Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Vax Terminations are really layoff

If this was really about vaccines then senior management would be reassuring everyone that workloads would be balanced and a large scale recruitment effort is underway by HR to backfill expected terminations....what have we heard...crickets...because there is no plan to backfill terminated employees although a leveling of current workforce will be necessary to see if remaining workforce has the skills to back fill business needs before laying off to meet undisclosed attrition targets. Trust me...there is a RIF list in development and once vax terms are complete...then comes layoff. The good thing is layoff will get packages, unemployment and COBRA unlike the vax terms.

Hang in there. At the end of the day it's just a job.

@5oza+1fwskAAd my sister works in retail there and says her base pay is better than my good months with commission. Their structure apparently sucks, especially with paying on satisfaction surveys during the pandemic, but they make like 50thou as a base.

"If you want to stay in telecom apply at Verizon they are well managed and successful."

One of the most laughable things I've seen. TMO certainly has its criticisms, but go ask any corporate Verizon location how they like their commission structure right now being based off surveys.

Way excellent post. The fact is the company has already determined how many employees are needed and what can be out sourced to India. After the vax terms are completed natural attrition will be reviewed. If there are not enough people leaving in normal departure a RIF will be done. It's not personal. It's a business. If you are feeling disconnected somehow then good chance you are not needed and will be laid off if needed. This is on you. You need to look for the new job while you still have one is best advice I hear from older people. If you want to stay in telecom apply at Verizon they are well managed and successful. Stay away from AT&T this is a dumpster fire. Maybe try Dish or Charter. Don't worry too much but is wise to plan your future because T-Mobile will not do that.

Completely agree. The only thing that would be surprising is if there is anyone that doesn't see that coming.

I imagine Covid delayed the original plan. Just watch what happens when Legacy Sprint CDMA, LTE....and perhaps wireline is shutdown.

All the kool-aid drinking (so sad actually), cultish behavior will matter not. Pink shirts will be exchanged for pink slips.
