The Supply Chain is global. Any disruptions and the machine slows down and/ or stops. So do profits.
China is a major supplier of titanium, but the largest titanium forging company in the world, VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, is located in Russia. Here is a great article explaining why this Russian company is vital to the airline industry and also the engine manufacturers.
