Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Laid off

I work in corporate. I was laid off today due to organizational restructuring with no notice. Has anyone else heard of anyone else being laid off today?

I’m told Millworks specialist are next with IHC’s in position (formally PSE). SSA rumors coming to light with upcoming training coming to stores, don’t be shocked if they go away.

Amazon is eating away Lowe’s day by day, the end is coming and they no it. Shopping at Lowe’s is a joke, there is zero help and when asked for help it never comes lol.

Honestly, I never understood why we had so many talent acquisition people to begin with.

Looks like district level talent acquisition is what was eliminated. This just means that Area TA will have to work harder, and based on what I have seen them doing I actually think that’s a good thing.

I just would like to remind people that the whole reason Talent Acquisition existed in the first place was the organizational restructure that eliminated Human Resource Managers in the stores. I consider this affirmation from the executive team that the "HR Transformation" has failed.

@kqiSuch a broken, short-sighted take on it. Occasionally for financial reasons they shake things up and streamline into another scenario that 'works' but perhaps not quite as well. Then as the situation allows, they move back to the optimal scenario.

It's a business. Their function in the world is to stay in business and to make money. It's pretty simple. If you don't like the way business works, perhaps work for a non-profit? Try a different country?

I went on LinkedIn, only post about it was a talent acquisition partner. What specific jobs had people been laid off from.

What positions were eliminated?

What’s really disgusting about all the lay offs that Lowes does is that eventually they bring all the eliminated positions back. I know that’s no comfort to those who just lost their jobs, but take a tiny bit of satisfaction from knowing that they’ll eventually have to eat their own mistakes.

I’ve watched this company for years. They consistently eliminate positions without any realistic plan for how the work is going to get done without the people they’ve laid off. It inevitably turns into a cluster f*ck and they have to bring back the positions, although they’ll rename those positions. The last thing the fragile egos at the top can deal with is being wrong.

I’ve seen this time and again, in the stores and at the corporate offices. It’s sad and ridiculous. I honestly think most of these lay offs are some pathetic attempt to boost the stock price, which is honestly the most incompetent way imaginable to do so.

I wish for just once that I worked for a company that wasn’t lead by incompetent, greedy half-wits but I guess I never will. What’s the saying? “The cream rises to the top. But so does the sh*t”.

If you are in the field and do not have direct reports at the district level - you will be next.
