Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Longtime projects

I heard rumors that more and more longtime projects are being stopped. I wonder if that's true? It wouldn’t surprise me at all, although nothing has stopped in my department yet. I become very nostalgic when I remember how it was here a few years ago and how it is now.

@1usg+1fs,
I would also add that Directors and Managers fail to make crisp decisions in the @$@!#! ($$$) beginning where there should have. They trust opinion or the supposed expert in the room and they trust terribly unverified metrics. I doubt this is a Cisco problem - it is more likely a human problem.
However, it is fair to ask for more than that from the supposed top 90% which is culled quarterly via stealth "rejiggering"/LR of the business needs.

CheeseCo has definitely shifted to a commodity-expectation of customer desire (don't ask the customer, just give them a racetrack slide) and is aligning to deliver a commodity experience.

There is no work-life balance. Overworked contributors are jumping ship by the minute. You can only work from 7 AM to 11 PM for so long before it catches up.

Are you referring to 2001? Cisco hasn't been a competent company for 20 years.
