Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

The frustration is mounting high

I don't expect any special treatment, nor do I want some extraordinary amount of respect and appreciation from Schwab. However, I don't want to work under so much pressure and workload anymore. It's really amazing how much work I have to do. Of course I'll give notice eventually, but what will Schwab do next? They will drive me away and bring in two people in my place who will do all the work that I did? It's a horrible management style.

Can we please setup a meet so we can discuss how we are going to discuss this. My boss Tanya is unhappy about all this confusion and is demanding we setup meetings to discuss what meetings we need to setup.

I am quite happy at how things are. The other day we spent the entire day troubleshooting an issue because our head of Ops could not make a decision. I had time to walk the dog and try a new recipe. Basically getting paid to do nothing. Pls stop rocking the boat. Life is good.

I choose not to overwork myself because this company doesn’t deserve it. Green leadership did a good job of never setting us up for failure or pulling unrealistic deadlines out of their a-s like Schwab does.

I’m going to walk my way to CD1. Reneging promises made to stockholders is Walt’s problem, not mine.

I am in STS. Generally, we all make sure not one is overworked. Doing 12 hour days it simply not sustainable, nor acceptable. People just burn out. Where do you work? Are you putting too much pressure on yourself? I know folks like that. It's commendable because you want to make a difference and have a strong work ethic. However, it is not sustainable. If you truly are overworked, speak up. Sometimes your direct manager may not realize that. I know of no managers, blue or green, that wants put such sustained pressure on anyone. Because it is not sustainable. Yes, there are times when we need to step to get things done, but that is always a short-term thing and recognized as such.

Good luck, and do hope it gets better for you. But please speak up.
