Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

NAO Vice President leaving!!!!!

One of the architects of snow and XPS integration is finally retiring/leaving. Greg G. Is one of the main reasons why Xerox is in the sad shape that we are in.....

Good riddance.

Was there ever an announcement about who is taking GG's place? I haven't seen one. Who's handling Service for the Americas now?

From what I heard they still haven't replaced the other VP on that team that was over global supplies and he left almost two months ago.

SNOW - as a system - works. It's the thresholds and parameters dictated by Sr Mgmt that caused all the problems.

And maybe the field losing some of their previous autonomy played a part in the negative results too.

SNow absolutely sucked. Worst system ever created by xerox. Make it completely impossible to get any goals accomplished or any work done. Totally useless. No wonder the echos in the hallways. You don’t treat people like that and dump a horrific system on them, and not expect retaliation.

GG isn't the only VP on MM's staff to leave this month. I heard the VP of global supplies left around the first of February.

Anybody that defends SNOW obviously hasn't had to use SNOW.

That’s what they do. Collect the bonus and leave when the sh!t hits the fan.

I worked with GG and I can honestly say he made the absolute best with what he was given. There aren't many others that could have had the results he did.

Sure, SNOW wasn't what the field wanted, but it was the right decision for Xerox as a company and aside from some technical issues up front - that had zero to do with GG - it's been a success and brought Xerox out of the stone age in that area.

Xerox was saddled with over 1000 ancient systems and IT tools, and starting to get out from under them has not been an easy task for any organization.

@OP+1fqRtJYh - I too know GG and he did amazing job given the $h!t sandwich he was given. There is a long list of Xerox id--ts that contributed to the downfall before GG.

I've worked with GG before and have a much different opinion than the OP. I'm guessing the OP is disgruntled.

Start with UB which was a social justice experiment that went horribly wrong. This is what happens when you don’t hire ppl based on qualifications. One of the lowest rated CEO’s of all time. Nice work XRX!!

I think there are a lot of names I would list before his as causing the downfall of Xerox.
