Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Chesapeake is 100% Liable

All oil wells are under tremendous pressure. When you drill into them or expose them to the earths surface they would erupt the oil on the ground. You stop this with mud and lots of it. The mud type and amount is determined by CHK engineers. They instruct the contracted company man what this calculation is and to secure the well with this.
When they failed to calculate the mud correctly the well released the flammable gas and since the contractors were using a non intrinsically safe tool. The tool ignited the gas creating the Brazos Valley well explosion that ki---d three and forever changed the life on another.

Oh yea! Paul was used for the escape goat for all the CHK fallers. He was over all Production rigs, flow back operations, construction and maintenance jobs both in STX and BV. That man wasn’t even on the job when this s—t took place. From what my understanding he was another high profile job. They used him as the blame tool right from the start. I know one thing that man loved his job and time at CHK. They will never find someone like him ever again. He treated all personal like family. I here he is doing well.

Ye put the pipe in the ground and get the oil and you sell it to the gas stations. Not hard. Learned that with $59.00 and wikipedia.

Thanks

You don't know WTF you are talking about. Having two barriers at all times IS and I repeat IS the oil and gas industry standard. You obviously have never worked outside of CHK where your d-mb a$$ manager DL works.

OP. All wells are not under tremendous pressure. Some are even under-pressured and will not even withstand a hydrostatic gradient. You lack a complete understanding of well control basics.

Double barriers are not a regulatory required item and I wouldn’t even say it’s an industry standard. However CHK had that as a policy at the time of this incident and they didn’t follow their own policy. What I love more than anything is how they are arguing that the company man was not an equal to an employee even though he took all of his day to day instruction from CHK employees. He was following a CHK drafted plan and PS was just as much of an employee as any other safety rep on location.

Even if the correct mud weight was used, you still need a 2nd barrier.
