MBA doesn't have to "comb through schedules" to find the half PTO days. There's a report that makes it VERY easy to find this stuff. You run it with dates a month forward to find these in time.

What MBA has the time to comb through schedules every week to see if anyone's taking a partial so they can manually add? There is an hours budget, you can't just add.

The system lets you put in half day pto and doesn’t assign a partial shift. However that was not the intent of how the half day should be used. But as I said before, Macy’s is vague on everything. Example: working thanksgiving is “optional” however executives are told to brow beat you into picking up the “optional” shift.

The policy has been updated just a few weeks ago, according to our MBA. You need to go into AskHr and read it. I did and it's true. You will be expected to work a partial day if you schedule a partial day PTO. Our MBA said you will be manually scheduled a shift to go with it but I think they are going to warn you about it first to see if you really want to do it this way.

The system never(I am talking years) scheduled anyone the other half of the day at our store….so how would this even workout correctly on the computer?

I’ve put in half day PTOs and had the days off. The system never scheduled me for the other half hours.

As a former AST Supervisor, we were told half days were for associates to use if they were working or had a full day shift and something last minute came up so they had to leave early or come in later. It is not to be used on an unscheduled day. But MACY’S is never clear on anything. Nothing new about the vagueness.

I have taken a half day PTO day before without working the other half of the day. So just talked to my manager and asked him for the day off but to add the 4 hours PTO.

If you put in a half day PTO for yourself and the system doesn’t give you a half day shift, you have that day off.

If you take a partial day you are expected to work a partial shift. If you don't, You are considered as an unexcused absent.
