Thread regarding Synamedia layoffs

Will the move to India continue ?

Will the redundancies and move to India continue and if so, do you think this will be a 6 monthly or annual cull ?

Also, more importantly, think about your resumé and your self respect. What have you built and delivered in the last ten years? When the interviewer for the next job asks you “and that thing you spent two years on - how did it benefit the company? How did it increase revenue? How many were sold? How many new subscribers did it bring in for your customers?” - what will you say? Has it all been a complete waste of time? Have you wasted it on internal politics or projects that went nowhere? How much of what you built five years ago is on air now, making money?

Is it all still a great idea that never sold?
What do you have to be proud of in the ten years since the new CEO first introduced us to Cisco?

Interviewers don’t fall for this, and your time is too precious to waste any more of it.

The beatings will continue until morale improves. The frequency of LRs will be an inverse relationship to sales revenue. LRs will increase until revenue does. If revenue does not pick up you can expect more frequent LRs. This is what happens when you hire uninspired executives. They don’t understand this business, let alone much about any business, to be able to adapt. Primera will be marking this investment in the loss column soon enough.

In the meantime, if you’re an experienced engineer in the US, UK or IL making anything above minimum wage - you should seriously think about your next move because the LR grim reaper is coming for you next.
