The Old Chevron IT Exit: Time to Jump Ship

I think we all know a bunch of folks are ready to GTFO once they get there CIP & pension milestones met in the next month.

Anyone hear news on what chapters expect to have the largest amount of quitters? I got my money on Data Science and Software Engineering, since they have the most marketable skills and can go remote. Agile is the least, cause we all know...LMAO Thoughts?

The company is not looking into the pain it is in Houston to commute. Pay to park even in the company parking lot, or take the awful metro system. Yes I know we all used to accept this when we first started but things have changed and its been proven work from home works and makes people happier. No need for this garbage now.

I actually left already, Chevron forced my hand with RTO. I would’ve stayed for March/ April otherwise

OP, software engineering will lose the most people because it's the biggest chapter. I predict that agile actually will lose more people than data science because that's actually been the trend in the past year. a lot of the people leaving the company are actually in the business management area, and data science and data engineering have actually lost very few people.

Its ok... all the product owners are moving to the chapters. That way attrition numbers dont show. Look!!! We increased our software engineers!! We are growing!!

@cbf, $225-250k base with what skills and in what cities? Trying to find a decent family house in a "tech hub" is playing hunger games.

If people are leaving that means promotions for those that stay will be fast and furious.

HR and talent are polar opposites. Only thing they do is protect management when management violates company policy.

HR is going to lose alot of psg 22-23s that haven't been promoted in last 2 years. Market for that talent is 225-250k base.

with so much attrition in IT, could actually make IT come under budget lol.

I put in my notice 3 days ago after 8 years and know at least a few more doing the same.
