The real reason is the off cycle pay increases that every hourly employee received in 2021 to stay competitive with the minimum wage increase is eating through the payroll
because they did not give any stores any more payroll dollars to compensate the rising min wage requirements.

Bass Pro Shops is in the leisure business category--meaning in tough times people don't need these products and will shift spending to necessary areas only. Right now the economy is in bad shape and inflation is out of control. As long as that is the case, BPS and other leisure chains like Di-k's and Academy Sports will continue to suffer, leading to cuts and layoffs.
Johnny isn’t all there anymore. He can’t even write his own name and his public appearances are super controlled. I think he’s completely out of the loop.
By most accounts, Johnny is a liked person. I really do think the regional brass are keeping him unaware of the problems cracking the foundation here.
BP leveraged themselves to the max to buy Cabela’s. Now they are stretched so thin financially and covid didn’t help, now with Sky high gas prices this could be the nail in the coffin for this company.
Let’s go fishing then.
