I’m not scared of COVID, but I still can’t make much sense of the push to be back in the office. I spoke to a couple of people today who were excited to see coworkers, but also questioning the need to jump back to the 45 minute commute and lack of flexibility. We had shown once again that we can perform just as well at home. Let the managers/departments that want to force their folks into the office do so, and let people that prefer to be there go in. But also let those whose job makes more sense with the flexibility to be at home just WFH. This one size fits all approach is allowing us to lose talent, especially as people realize the benefits of being in the office don’t outweigh those from having the option to WFH.

We need to expose those people who are having affairs to their spouses. Run them out of the company.
funny...someone had my post about all the affairs and cheating among Denbury employees removed....the truth hurts...some do come to the office "for the relationships"...crazy someone wanted that gone...probably someone who is guilty of that.
Same could be said about vaccinated people…. Vaccinated people are contracting and spreading the virus.
President Joe Biden: People vaccinated for COVID-19 “do not spread the disease to anyone else."
PolitiFact's ruling: Mostly False
Yes being around unvaccinated people who don’t wear masks or bother getting tested when they’re asymptomatic. Very dangerous behavior that should be publicly shamed.
Better not leave your house on the weekends either. Might be around people that could get you sick. If you have to work from home, you better be limiting your social interaction on your own time also.
Who comes to the office for the “relationships”
Omg that reeks of desperation, why would you crave social interaction that bad?
You sound like a desperate housewife
Vaccinated people are still acquiring and spreading C19. This is not debatable, this is a fact, even the CDC has recognized this.
Let me make this clear, you are needlessly endangering your human resource.
How many people have been infected and hospitalized because of your actions?
As most recent studies show, people who are double and triple vaccinated now are experiencing an aids like syndrome. Those people are going to start having major issues, soon. Forcing them to come to work is reckless, those people are now maimed for life.
Anyone pay attention to the amount of heart conditions going up among friends and family? How many tv commercials are now pushing this idea of heart conditions becoming a major issue. How many soccer players collapse, people in their 20s and 30s. How many news casters, and other famous people have now collapsed on camera due to this.
You cannot avoid this. This issue will not go away. The smart play is to have your people especially the vaccinated stay home.
Cute that you think HR has any power. Complain to your management. They are the only ones who can try to make change.
They don’t even ask feedback in those surveys anymore because THEY DO NOT CARE. The new building space is poorly planned. You have to wait in a line to use the restroom most of the time. I don’t wait in line when I’m working from home.
Maybe if we had real HR they would address some of these issues and try to retain good employees?? Just an idea.
I’m a boomer and enjoyed working from home. I get more done and get to have coffee and lunch with my retired wife. Also have more time in the day, save on gas and tolls, and live a healthier lifestyle.
We’re busting at the seams even with cube farms and are about to add another floor at Plano Tower. Their hard on for the office is so great that they’ll take on more office leases. Instead we could be maximizing savings, increasing efficiency, and giving a morale boost to some by determining which roles work from home. I say all of this even knowing my role will never be one that would be given that option.
You get to share in the misery that everyone has that wasnt able to work from home.
Hey Boomer, you can build relationships outside of being in-person. The companies you mention are ones that no one wants to work for. Thanks for your advice, you can return to your abacus now.
The schedule is already flexible. There are employers who haven’t ever offered their employees the WFH option the entire pandemic and aren’t ever going to. Part of your job involves relationships with others even if you can do your most of your job from home. Amazing to me how much whining on this site. If your job isn’t want you want it to be then stop threatening and go and just do it cause it’s getting old.
I agree! Too many options out there WFH, better benefits and paying more money than Denbury.
It makes zero sense, and nobody with current, marketable skills will stick around for it. (Unless they have an office squeeze, and that's the only way they can each get away from their spouses, of course)
I agree that it’s stupid. A couple of recruiters have reached out to me with full work from home options and only the need to go to the office for big meetings and events. Seriously considering making the move if we don’t change our stance on it.
Because the dictators have less control when you work from home….
I don't care about covid either but working in the office is stupid. Wasted time driving to work. Wasted money paying for gas.
