Despicable company that they do not like their old personnel, but it is manage by old people.

How old is DW and their acolytes (brownosers and companions)?

Yes, old employees- anyone close to 40 at Exxon. Look at all those quitting after 14-15 years and started with Exxon right out of college. Seems as though they would have stayed another 15 years if it wasn’t so bad at Exxon, or so much better elsewhere. Look around, there are plenty of higher paying jobs with better benefits, culture, work life balance, and location for engineers. Don’t waste 15 years like others to finally realize there is something better out there.

@alf you hit the nail on the head with the R word. Executives don't respect senior technical people who didn't make full blown executive, only CL 28-30. Furthermore, they resent the fact they need them, just like they need a wh--e because their old ladies are more interested in the credit cards than them.

Executives view old working class people as failures.

Executives only respect the old people that had sponsors then rode that gravy train to become sponsors.

Sponsorship system far more valued than expertise and wisdom.

Many productive old timers still around. Company knows what they are paid is peanuts compared to the daily added value. Any worth their salt can save the Company 5x their annual pay in one effective conversation repeatedly every dat, week, month, year. Too many power point pushers are only good at being clanging bells making lots of noise. The smart ones know which old guy to talk to, the others can only hope their next upline manager is also lacking knowledge and impressed with the perceptions created in the power points.

It’s not that they do not like their own ilk, it’s just that the younger ones will work much more productively for far less of a remuneration package. Simply business.
