I often visit this forum to check if there are any new rumors and I was really disappointed how many people here think that some of us do not deserve to be paid more because we are not educated as doctors, dentists etc. Obviously some think that we should be happy to have a job at all?

Since gainsharing was basically calculated as unpayed labor budget we'd all be getting huge checks right now. For example my store had over $30,000 labor surplus . Our store has maybe 100 TM's. If gainsharing was still a thing we'd be getting well over $2k extra every other month give or take. Even back in the day when we had a four person seafood team during a recession and not making profit they were making $950 a gainsharing check. Grocery was making $7-800 in a low sales money losing store. When they removed gainsharing Whole Foods quality went from "great" to "why don't I just shop at Wal-Mart?" Everything about WF went downhill afterwards. Tm knowledge, Customer service, Morale, Longevity, customer loyalty. Everything. Whole Foods was on Fortune 500 list for best places to work for 20 years, now it's a joke.
Stop working hard do just enough to not get fired. Your hardwork will get you nowhere at this point the only effort anyone should put in is to leave and find another job.
There are teams that worked their tails off all year to improve on metrics for the balanced score card and it was changed last minute to favor specific stores to look good check insights previous year quarters . The report is not even posted to show what how it was judged and no stl’s can verify what the metrics were.This shows how whole foods treats it’s team members it’s demoralizing we need better pay to put up with this.
mackey's farm fought to keep gainsharing for years to make us better capitalists...in this time of labor shortages and increased sales from amazon delivery im curious as to what the monthly gainsharing would amount to....cash on your check...

If all the avocado's in the world stayed right where they are, and none are near me, I'd be OK with that.
And in the 80s you could buy a home for 30-40K it's not a great comparison to use times have changed significantly get out of your old mindset. Costs on everything have gone up considerably and coperations are making huge profits they CAN pay people more its a choice not to.
Historically cashiers and bagging jobs were filled teenagers who did not need to pay rent. I was a bagger in the 80s. Everyone was my age that I worked with. Even though there are good ones and bad ones, these are low skill jobs that anyone can walk off the street and do.
Wait to see what happens after the avocado category shrinks after the importation of banned mexican avocados hit. The only state that we can import from in mexico is michoacan and it’s narco territory. Sales dip and massive increase in retail whatch guac be like $15 lb. Watch it happen. Wages will what?Will regional and global fill the tables with their 100k + salaries? Regional and global hurl at hard labor they demand hard work for pay for little pay with little to no benefits and yet every year we loose more benefits. Bezoism at it’s best will fail over time but great in short term like their sales with measured quantities with little or no spoilage. Time dropped the wealthiest man.
All people should be paid better the people making the majority of the money just sit back and collect off of everyone else's hardwork. Inflation is a lie and coperations are making tons of money even though they are short staffed the whole thing stinks. Wake up people you are being lied to.
Not to mention many nurses and teachers don't get paid enough either.
My issue I have is with the people that act as if TMs are asking to make what a nurse or doctor makes. People just want a wage to live comfortably not to buy fancy cars and mansions. It's disgusting how some people defend the mistreatment of low skilled jobs but they partake in shopping in businesseses that employee them.
