I hope they got it in writing for the govt subsidized jobs. IBM’s track record for the last 10 years with the US state governments and jobs promises has been dismal. Just ask NY, Louisiana, Missouri, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Iowa, etc etc. IBM has failed in all of them to create the jobs promised, and has had to repay the incentives. When you are managing for “todays” cash flow, and letting someone else worry about tomorrows, you tend to forget your promises and just pay the penalty when due.
