Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

It would be great to get the package and leave

I'm sick and tired of this company. Ever since I started working here I feel like I am no longer the same person I used to be. Constantly some pressure, stress and misery. So now I don't think it would be so bad to get layoff here. Does anyone know for sure what the severance policy is, because from multiple sources I received different information about severance pay?

I knew someone who worked for NCR and was very unhappy. Wanted the package and waited a long time before finally being let go. It’s true if you want it you won’t get it at least not right away. I can’t work like that but if you have any indication you might be targeted start preparing yourself just in case. Do your job the company determines who goes and what I heard it’s based on current salary age and years of service not necessarily performance which I know is crazy.

You folks are talk weeks, when in the 90s I knew folk that got 6 months. If your miserable look for another job before you laid off. Those weeks you get now can move faster than you think. Now years does make some difference in weeks or severance. Best case is to have something lined up before you get laid off.

Anyway get the heck outta there, not worth it.

I just got riffed last Friday. Pay grade 10 - 13 weeks. No discussion. This is truly an evil place.

I got the "RIF" a few years ago for no reason. 4 months full salary, but insurance ended that week. NCR can rot in he-l for how it treats its people. They don't care about you.

Depends on your pay grade not years of service. I had 44 years and was pay grade 11. I got 14 weeks in 2018

The one thing that holds true just about anywhere is that if you're looking for that package, begging for it... you won't get it. You'll be one of the ones they keep around, doing a job and being miserable, watching all the other lucky ones get their packages and move on. It's not like it's life-changing money. If you're unhappy, find your way out!
Severance is NOT owed you or guaranteed in any way. And it can be different as time goes on. And different for different situations. I'm just saying... don't count on anything.
