I miss Sabre that valued employees according to their merits. Now it is quite sad to watch new employees trying to give their best only until they realize that this is no longer the most important thing here. Perhaps I idealize the past times a little too much?

I enjoyed my time there and was part of a great and very productive team. Then they re-orged and our new manager started sending jobs overseas. We didn't get along real well and I'm sure that showed in my work. I left before COVID and haven't looked back. I do miss working with my old team though.
The old Sabre was amazing. Coming to work was like a daily reunion, we worked hard and CEOs were trusted, we felt valued. After SamG left the morale and loyalty to employees went out the door with him. I left Sabre and went to a company that is a people employer. For the last year I keep saying I wish I had done this 20 years ago.
They NEVER should've sold Dunder Mifflin to David Wallace. Beginning of the end.
Perhaps I'm being too cynical but the "old Sabre" was never really all that. There were some very good people, for sure, and by and large people loved working for Sabre. However, Sabre always had its bad sides just like any company of its size. Some of us just never realized it at the time or have now let nostalgia color our thinking.
