Because of the stupid split and exodus of employees I’m hearing no raises / promotions for this year. Not even a 2-3% raise? This is honestly the worst company.

I’m not sure what BU you are in but I’m IT, we’ve gone many years without across the board raises. Those days are goneX
Max exodus of people leaving + layoffs.. yeah no raises till this is over. I believe we are seeing the official downfall of AIG. This was bound to happen. Whether you have been here for only a month or 15 years.. take that next job offer soon, i promise you won’t regret it. Because if not, you’ll be rif’d or uncompensated till this company gets liquidated, that’s for sure. It’s time that AIG learns that they should’ve never been bailed out in 08’. It’s been an on going mess and I’m sick and tired of seeing upper management loot all the money while telling the rest of the employees there is no money left.
Big changes coming in Q2 after the separation of L&R so no need to give raises to jobs that will no longer exist. Hold on for Q2 and take that job offer if it comes your way.
This industry has strong headwinds. On top of it, we dont have any durable advantage over our competitors. Our technology has not been updated for decades. We are becoming obsolete. We all feel that we are working very hard but reality is that our work is not creating any shareholder value.
So, the only option for management is to make short term focused decisions and squeeze out as much as possible in short term. I know I would do the same if I were the ceo. Dont feel bad, its not personal. It is what it is.
Seems a little sui-idal not to do raises this year, when the better employees can probably get more just because of inflation. Many who’ve gone to the effort of getting another job offer won’t stick around for a counter, especially here.
Raises will never come. Senior management will always give themselves the extra money for a poor job and layoffs for everyone else
Supposedly they will come eventually, but upper management has to make sure they can fund their sti bonuses at 200% before they commit to raises?
