Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Fuji vs Xerox - selling the same products now

Why is Fuji (now Fuji Business) selling the same product as the Xerox Iridesse and PrimeLink - they just call it Revoria https://www.fujifilm.com/de/de/business/graphic/commercial-digital-printing/revoria-press-pc1120 - but, it is the exact same specs just a different name? How is having another competitor that sells the same exact product going to end? Will Fuji Business start selling in North America soon? Will they sell it cheaper?

Its worth noting that Fiery already developed the gamut extension since they long ago presumed that Xerox would last minute demand it'd be done tomorrow. And so it could be launched very quickly. But of course, they want to keep the dinosaur alive... the igen has to live on right? What a decrepit company this has become...

They make the product (in Japan) - so they can sell it cheaper then a big intercompany markup - also they control inventory and shipping - so I suspect they ship the ones they sell first. They make the fusers and the toner too so they can do it all.

Expecting payback on a business front for the 2018 public disrespect to Fuji leadership by the JV team. Not that the latter cares

There's significant differences between the products:

1- They have the GX Print Server which has the iGen equivalent of gamut extension natively, and reportedly it kicks Fiery in the nuts pretty bad overall, but too expensive back then to import.

2- The vacuum blowers

3- They use AI to enhance images and it works beautifully in most cases.

4- All the kinks they worked out and improvements they added here and there since the break with Fuji are now to their advantage only.

I'm probably missing a lot but these are the salient ones...
