My manager was shocked and I told him that total compensation before this change was on average double that of an IBMer. All seniors left my team and I am one of two remaining. If it wasn't for family I would leave, may need to look internally and use some leverage.

I took a package after 38 years. I practically begged for package months ahead of time dying to get out after a new mgt team came in that was just riding on all my incredible former team had built before they were all pushed out one by one, then I officially "retired" with a nice separation lump sum and benes. I got bored after a few months and came out of retirement at a higher salary, a half mil+ in RSU sign-on grant, 15% annual bonus, six-figure annual RSU grants, and a job that is fun without the amateur management team in my part of the business that took over and was a bunch know-nothing hacks. Ginny was a joke - but the joke was on the customers and stockholders. The id--t C-suite never learned that burning countless employees who then flooded the industry and made buying decisions didn't and don't buy from the company that betrayed them. I am certain old man Watson has something to say to them when they meet. Proud to have built the old IBM that no longer exists and is now nothing more than an also-ran.

Ibm would rather give retentions to it's managers, vps and svps when they're not even capable of getting interviews.

Even if amzn is a sh---y place, it opens many opportunities in a year. While ibm is considered a drag on the resume.

Amazon is a sh---y workplace, but might as well get paid more for putting up with the sh-t. At ibm, you deal with all the backstabbing for free. 😂

This is an entirely different job market than 1-1.5 years ago. Voluntary attrition is forcing a shift from cost-reduction (RA) mindset to a hiring/retention one. IBM is struggling to adjust.

Apparently they are now allowing 2 pi-s bottles for warehouse workers now!

What a company!

That is what they have to pay folks to work in their awful backstabbing workplace. Amazon chews up technical talent and spits it out. Most people don't last long because it is such an awful place.

All it proves on your resume is that you can be an ar-e too.

Hard to believe IBM is doing the same.

I posted here a few weeks ago that amzn is paying 500k+ to new experienced hires (5+yoe) and nobody believed me.

Good luck ibmers, pls leave this shithole in droves and say goodbye to the as----e incompetent management

Yeah, I saw that... so that is base pay before RSUs... so that is definitely interesting, a lot more than before because a max base pay of $160K was not great at all.

Updating my resume, and calling Amazon.
