Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Ridiculous doesn't even begin to cover it

Things were always busy but lately, I'm expected to be in five places at once. Even worse, I get yelled at if I'm not. Do these people ever listen to themselves and what they're saying? Do they know how id--tic they sound when they spout cr-p about "trying harder" and "not wanting to hear any excuses?" I'm not paid enough for this sh-t.

Gets even worse when you realize there isn’t even communication above the store level. Went through a renovation for new layout. No new fixtures showed, supposed to have all new for Harmon, Dining, and Pillows so those “new rooms” now look incomplete and temporary. But still we push ahead with more stores and 5S Projects knowing full well that we don’t have the supplies, or personnel to work in that new set-up.

And no. Coming from an ASM that has a good sm but not so nice fellow ASMs…you are not paid enough for this sh-t. Nor should you put up with something that makes you feel uncomfortable. ASMs are under a lot of stress to produce results but that should not be at the expense of good part timers that are just trying Their best.

Maybe I’m lucky because I’m just told to cashier/put out candy at the front 🤷‍♂️

We don’t dare ask how the back room freight is: we know that answer 😒😬😵‍💫🤡

That also is such truth. I’ve seen fellow dam’s literally bark orders at associates not only because they don’t know how to do the jobs themselves but because they just plain don’t know how to manage because they are so inexperienced. We used to invest in people and grow them properly. Now these managers we have now it’s just sad. And they don’t even realize what they are doing wrong because the just don’t know any better. I’ve seen mgrs ream out associates to a point that was damn illegal. It’s honestly needs tostop.

Newer sms just like new dms are in way over their head. They micromanage because they don't really know what they are doing. Everyone is pretending that everything is going fine. They are too blind to see that this company is done. Share price is the same when the activists replaced the top brass. Now we have barely any cash on hand. It is all credit.

You are not lying. That happens every day. Part timers are expected to move mountains in a little 4 hour shift and it is ridiculous.

I have found SM’s spout out a list of tasks to be done during the day( your shift a 4 hr shift) expecting it to be completed. Looks good on paper but in reality it’s so totally unrealistic expectations. Need to zone, need to get the right pegs, need to find the taggy things to put the price sticker on, need to help a customer, need to take breaks, need to backup, need to backstock product, need my sanity after SM walkies you for the hundredth time
