Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

WE GET ANOTHER BONUS!

I just found out the company branded givaways was only a small part of what we’re getting this year. I heard it on good authority that everyone will be receiving an additional monetary bonus this year! $$$ The group in charge of handling this is still working throug the details, but the plan is to announce it sometime next month. I don’t know any more specifics other than it’ll be based on a formula that uses your tenure and your performance rating.

$.10 for a Level 1 $.20 for Level 2 $.30 for Level 3. So if you are there for 10 Years with a rating of a 2 you get $2.00.

Customer facing only-just claims.

No seriously, is this just for claims? Not hearing anything elsewhere.

I love this site! I am no longer at SF, but this site confirms why I left. As for this feed, the $1500 is just to prevent a mass exodus after the bonus in April/May. You have to do what's best for you. But understand this, once you are gone they will find someone else to take your place like you were never there. Please, don't stress yourselves out over a company that pretends to care about you. Oh, and condolences to the family regarding the "incident" noted on another feed.

What a great company SF is for having to bribe its employees to not quit. (Yes, this is sarcasm for those that take everything literally.)

It is the biannual agency convention. Has been going on for decades. Grow up child.

Sure, throw us $1,500 (which will be taxed) meanwhile the turnover rate is through the roof. Another thought/rumor floating is that The Farm is planning a $20Mill party in Vegas for the 100 year anniversary next June. So while executive and agency is yucking it up on the Sin Strip, the rest of us peons will be working our 38.75 keeping the business afloat. Sure have your party and sc--w over the employees that got you there. And they wonder why there is so much turnover?

Must not be for Enterprise Technology because I’ve not heard one single word about this from anyone here. If it’s claims, underwriting, other operations type positions…good for them. Ive been in both underwriting and claims in the past and it’s definitely a position with less gratitude as what we get in ET, so I have no problem seeing them get recognition.

I like the new bonus being used this year for customer facing positions. Now I’d say wages need to be reviewed, but I think the company is waiting to see how many people leave after the bonus for that .

Go look at job offers. Many other insurance companies are offering you 5,000 NOW. Travelers is one of them.
SF can keep their lousy 1500. I knew it was going to be some pathetically low offer with a weird requirement.

Really, in august? Who the he-l is going to stay here for 1500 in 6 months?

the "bonus" comes in August .. I wonder why?? I mean if they really cared about employees they would give it at the same time as the EIP but nope they got to drag it out because they think people will stay another 6 months for $1500 and rather than risk people "running away with the money"

obviously if you don't plan on leaving sure its nice to get money but $1500 can be earned at a higher paying job a lot sooner than waiting for this, they should have actually tried harder and made the bonus 6k , then i assure you they would get some results even if its purely for the money.

@2nrv-so I guess you won’t get a bonus then. And no, you did not earn it.

Remember. SF will NEVER give you anything. You will have to earn it UNLESS you are one of THE CHOSEN FIT IN TYPES.

An average retention bonus is generally 10 - 15% of base pay. If an employee accepts the retention bonus they are also agreeing to remain with the company for a specified period of time. Not saying this is what will be presented to us, but an employee will not be able to quit or retire until the time commitment has been met or they will need to pay the company back.

@1tki+1fafPDvN Right?! Is there some sort of clause we need to stay put for a period of time to keep it?

Believe it when I see it. And if I see it, what is the catch? These days, nothing is as it appears with State Farm.

My team has a huddle already set for this week to discuss the new bonus. It has something to do with employee retention.

Remember. They give you nothing. They make it sound like they give you a gift when in reality you earned it and always gave them more. Very deceitful.

You're kidding - work my a-s off, take OT every single week - always crunching to meet unreasonable expectations.... My annual raise less than the "referral fee" being offered if you pull someone into this place.

Throw some cash to the peasant workers. Keep em happy. PR moves work every time.

Rocket scientists run Farm.

And their families.

Get back to work!
