Grocery chains big and smail in the Midwest used to want to be like Hy_vee Not NOW.

Hyvee is a retail company, yes..but the people who make up that company are diverse in their skills and their Chosen careers.. you don’t ask a bookkeeper to wash the dishes and you don’t have an IT person suddenly become a store manager or a floral department employee. BTW…what is supposed to be happening to the current store managers whose positions are being offered to the displaced people? “So be it” you say…the consequences of that attitude will bite you back eventually.
It’s a retail company.
Any retailer would tell you they would be nothing without their front line people and if this group of employees didn’t want to go that direction- so be it.
These people chose a career path that was meaningful to them, that allowed them to use their specific strengths, that gave them a particular lifestyle…then they are told that they are no longer valuable to their company unless they move to a position with very different tasks (delis, clerking), lifestyle (working less hours, weekends, evenings) with less pay and they are supposed to accept that without resistance? The arrogance of Randy severely limits his understanding of todays workforce. Does not bode well for Hy-vee.
