Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Nothing was done to prevent closure

My store will be closed soon. It's not that I didn't expect it. We all knew the store was going to close. But interestingly, management has done nothing to prevent that closure. There was a lot that could be done, but of course, when you have the wrong people managing it, then it is impossible to do anything.

You’re right they do have a process, maybe it could’ve been prevented maybe not. I’d like to hear more stories from the employees that work there…..

How uninformed.

Walmart closes stores only after a lengthy and very thorough review. If your store is being closed, there’s probably a history of metrics that played a part in the decision. For example, continued and escalating shrink.

But, local store management couldn’t have changed this decision.

What would you have them do? Metrics ( a ton of them ) is what a retailer uses to determine what stores to close.
