Going back to the original question asked on this board, will we have any layoffs soon?

Attrition of talent, retirement of knowledge, Loads of NCG with no experience = cost savings
Looks like GF retirement wave is starting. I saw 3 retirement posts from GF today alone on LinkedIn
Yea I know more then 5 people in different areas that are just about to leave.
Question though. If so many people leave. At some point GF will have to cut projects and programs because there is no one to do them and everyone else if beyond overloaded as is.
So if they do cut projects/programs - would that then trigger a layoff?
I haven’t seen anyone leave in over a month in my group.
No. Attrition is way too high to cause a direct layoff. We gotta keep the people from leaving before we have a layoff.
The closer you are to the wafers the more stable your job so anyone in AME is needed.
I'm seeing at least 1 person per module this week so far leaving or putting in notices. Anyone else see same?
Check out LinkedIn and the wave of NCG offer acceptance announcements with GF tagged. They can’t hire as fast as people are retiring/leaving. No need for layoffs without a 7nm-style pivot, and in this hiring environment it’d be insane to burn those bridges.
There will be massive retirement waves coming soon. I think next one is in June. So huge brain drain and just man power gone… so probably no layoffs …. I think GF is trying to hire like crazy to fill those spots and fill all the spots of people leaving on their own accord…..but not having much success. Attrition is at all time highs and has been for awhile. GF needs people… anybody at this point -so very unlikely that that would get rid of anyone
Make your own decision do what is best for you and your family. This is only a job, it is not personal. GF lay off all the 7nm team without notice, nothing personal, it was just business.

I hope there is… it will make a decision for me and my family
highly doubt it
