What will happen after resignation email sent

I have sent resignation email to my boss almost 2 weeks ago. My boss just had a simple chat with me to show he is acknowledged. He might try to be polite to say he will see if can get a counter offer. Since then we have no interaction at all, no confirmation on my last day nor arrangement for work passing down. No hr person contacted either. My last day in my email will come soon. I’m wondering if I need to do anything? Thanks!

At least it is not like IT. They just tell you it’s your last day with no notice and walk you to your car like you are a criminal.

Start with the new company and see how long you still get paid at WD?

Leave. Don't take a counter. You looked for a reason. Move on . Send note to HR business partner. Sounds like you manager is clueless.

You can resign with HR yourself without your boss.

If your boss really hasn't communicated with you since you gave notice, you may want to reply to the original email you sent, reminding him that your last day is "X" and asking if there's anything you need to do in the way of handoff or anything like that, how to handle your equipment turn-in, etc... If it were me, I'd go ahead and include someone on HR on that email. But that's just me.
