Hy-Vee's response to questions from employees, media and the public has changed with each passing day. Why can't they just give straight answers to straight questions? People are laughing at the fact that you blame COVID staffing for the firings when some of those you got rid of were hired just weeks ago, 2 years after the pandemic started. If you had just been honest about this from the outset, the story would have come and gone and even though prople might be angry, you wouldn't be an object of ridicule.

suggested addition of 1 employee to the "got rid of" list. One employee who could save the company the dollars of many "worthless" employees. Maybe the Chairman?
What’s really strange to me is that, even though they may have been working on d-mb projects, is there no one in leadership with the vision or direction to make a new plan and repurpose these people? I agree that bad employees and dead weight needs to be cut sooner than later…but from all indications even by Randy himself there was only 20 of the 121 that fall into this category. With the increase in digital and technology being required to keep up in this new post-Covid environment, you’d think that there would be tons of new opportunities to put these people to good use. Instead we do this and I’m guessing here in the next 6 months we’ll realize we need to hire again for the exact same positions.
And that they hired people in Jan-Feb of 2022 to deal with a pandemic that started in 2020. Sure, makes perfect sense.
Well you see Randy thinks everyone is d-mb so by saying he only hired extra help for the Covid and now that Covid is over it’s time to get rid of that extra help. So Randy your telling me that with Covid HyVee was forced to hire an extra 121 in the IT department to help get through this pandemic.
