Thread regarding Belk layoffs

I earn every cent here

It really pi---s me off when management behaves like we should be happy and grateful to work here. I earn every penny through hard work here, no one gives it to me just like that. Then why such attitude towards employees? Belk treats the worst those who deserve it the least.

Some people do nothing though and it’s fine with the managers. I’m not trying to overwork myself if everybody isn’t expected to do the same work. Our fitting rooms are always a mess and it makes no sense. The managers could definitely be helping. It’s sad because they harp on you about email, credits, and pre-sales but they expect you to also keep the store looking good (it never does). You get a low email percentage and they are all over you about it but all we can do is ask people. I’m not going to pressure someone to give me their email. I won’t do it.

At my Belk store we play this game or charade with Sale Team Managers that we pretend we have so much work to do for three people at Belk if all managers in my store pretend that they care enough about us working here for minimum wage! Try it you like it and driving managers crazy!

I agree. The few employees that actually show up for work at my store do the job of at least 3 people. When I voice my frustrations I get told that I have a bad attitude and I shouldn't be so negative. Currently my store has no HR for me to go to. What are we supposed to do. Nobody advocates for the lowly hourly employee. They keep saying we're going to get help and things will get better but they have been saying that for months. TEAM Belk is a JOKE. We get harassed and shamed EVERY day for low numbers on app downloads and credits and email captures yet they keep raising our goals. If I don't work on the floor how am I supposed to accomplish these things? Ugh! The frustration is absolutely overwhelming!!!!!!!

Belk wants employees d-mb enough to do the job of three people for no money, the problem is people are catching on and Belk can't continue this charade.

My store manager is riding everyone’s A$$ to get the Belk Credits, Email captures and download Belk App everyday! I told her kiss both side of my A$$ or leave me alone so I can work and serve my customers! It worked since I stop harassing customers for Belk credits average about forty or more credits every month! Belk is hurting for Belk reward credit cards and having problem hiring new people. Don’t let the store manager harassed you and treat you that way! Enough is enough something gotta give.

I get paid the same whether I do 3 peoples jobs or just sc--w off and barely do mine… So why bust my bu-t and do more for less.
