Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Layoff might the best thing that's happened to many here

Perhaps the idea that getting laid off was a curse and a blessing for many here might sound a bit odd. However, I know people who now earn much more, have much less stress and generally enjoy life more because it took layoff for them to finally starting looking for something better for themselves.
If they didn't get laid off here, they would probably still be wasting their time here today... I have two interviews scheduled for next week.

Just do the math. Xerox salary is typically 20% to 30% lower than comparable companies. Add that 20% to 30% to your current pay, times the number of years left that you expect to be working.

It's a big number, isn't it?

I left on my own just over two years ago and I make over 30K more and no toxic environment - this changed my life for the better. Xerox is a horrific place that stalls your career - be positive and be active - I encourage everyone to leave you can do it!!

I left X on my own, randomly just applied for jobs on indeed, A few weeks later got an email to interview via zoom then in person, I got offered the job, more money, guaranteed raises, great pension, the stress level 10% of what it was, I honestly wished I left sooner than I did, I love my new job!!!

I made the jump from X a few years ago, honestly it was hard to do it.
I thought about it for a good year, but now thinking about it, IT WAS THE BEST THING I DID FOR MYSELF. I decided to go with a staffing company that way I could be placed in different companies to see where I fit best. I was with the staffing company for 6-8 months ( 3 different company placements).

I'm now at a private owned SBE. Full time perm. my boss pays my full insurance package (medical, dental, vision, short term, income protector (like aflac), basic life insurance & buy up option life insurance. I do not pay a cent towards medical/insurance. I only contribute to my 401k that is matched. We also get a "profit share" deposit about 1.5% from the boss at the end of the year into our 401k.
We get year end bonus & yearly raise.

yes, most likely perks of working at a private company.

Get on linkedin, indeed, career builder, simply hired, staffing companies etc. There are options & opportunities out there. They won't just fall in your lap. You have to put yourself out there

best of luck! I pray for all still at X .

I was furloughed back in May 2020 as a service tech and was IRIFed in DEC 2020 found a new job in Nov 2020 where I will make more this year than my best year ever at X, and I got an Annual bonus, plus my benefits cost less, have no deductibles, cover more, and they match my 401k every paycheck. I don't pay $150.00 a month for a white van and park it in my driveway for free and no one is tracking me with GPS. I work for home with no stress The grass is greener..

Congratulations. Beginning the search now to jump this sinking ship. Just wondering how long it took for some of you to get those interviews, length of time to be searching for that next new job? I can not wait to kiss this chapter of Xerox good bye!
