Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Resignations have started.

Injury CS here, resignations have started today. With the bonus being paid out, let’s see how many more we will lose . Maybe the $1,500 bonus will increase, those new handlers don’t have a pension keeping them here . Other sections, how has staffing been for you ?

You seem to have confused working for a Fortune 40 Company and being in cub scouts. Maybe a merit badge or trophy would help you?

Brutal monday. Lots of people on two week notice today, a few just gone immediately. Our department had just hired enough people to make up for last years deficit, which then saw tons reassigned due to the hiring freezes being lifted which nullified the replacement hiring. Then on top of that, even more quit putting us in a worse spot than we were when they actually decided to hire people to prevent people from quitting from over work.

Nothing but spinning wheels, and turning/burning workers until the turnover is addressed. Eventually this is all going to collapse in on itself. Is that what they are waiting for? I mean clearly they are not even interested in paying more in order to entice workers to join....let alone trying to keep the people they have.

Another 3 injury claim handlers have left since the bonus was paid. Not expected to replace them according to leadership, we never add an staff, only replace those that leave , if that even.

Only the best at the Farm! You sound like a lot of fun to work with. It must be tough for you always being the smartest person in the room!

You are quite welcome. Glad to be of service. I know you lack the grey matter to deal with numbers or anything complex for that matter.

@4qzw. Wow. Good thing we have great analysts like you crunching the numbers and keeping us in line! Thanks for all you do.

PIP needs micromanagement because of employee incompetence.

They've just hired a bunch of people to most injury teams. I'm not sure its keeping pace with what left over the last two years, and, accounting for people who now can apply out from the department now that new hires are hitting the floor. Keep in mind there have already been people who have quit from those hiring waves as well.

I will say, injury is a department most regret joining. For what it pays, its a pretty bad deal versus any other CS role when you account for everything you need to know and do. Youll have triple the stress and double the work as any other comparable paying role...and they are making things more difficult for everyone not less with each new change and new system they layer onto other systems that dont connect and require tons of extra data entry.

Claims is a sh!thole with INJ where the tu-d claims get flushed

4 injury CS have left in my demand pool since the bonus., but according to this board no one is leaving. I feel bad for the new handlers, 300-400 new claims and not even knowing the job. Claims leadership better get ahead of this, the turnover is out of hand.

If you read the posts on this site claims is not running well at all. Time to ship it out and that would include analysts too.

Lol, if that is the case, every analyst job is going to India. SF needs claims to run, analyst are support roles. Your role will be gone long before any claim handlers will be.

LOL, that was exactly the same sentiment that was expressed when the claims centrals were announced in the 90’s. Allstate executives tout how successful their outsourcing of claims functions have been on their analyst calls. They cite expense reduction and customer service. Of course if you go on the Allstate layoff site you will hear a lot of negatives. Face it if your job can be accomplished on a phone and computer it is at risk.

Lol, claims going to India, what company has successfully used this strategy?

Worst claim and ET employees in the industry. Can’t wait until both functions are sent to India.

1yvn+1fRMUo62, but the miscreants that represent 2% of the workforce, and who have never had any other job than monitoring the safe space at college, are disappointed they don't have every benefit known to mankind.

They will wander the job landscape for years before they realize life isn't fair.

40% of the workforce here is in their late 50's or older with 30 plus years of service and all the rocket scientist on here are surprised there are a lot of retirements. Good thing you are all trapped in dead end jobs worrying about wife swapping, dr-g addiction, and credit card debt incurred by others.

I heard no one in ET is getting a bonus. The senior executive team is tired of the excuses and inability to ever hit a delivery date.

I've heard everyone in ET is getting an additional $15,000 bonus.

I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but it is decent for those that started recently and still make under $150k.

I've heard up to 99% if everyone in Bloomington has quit or retired or thinking about retirement some day.

Management is throwing money at the few of us left just st to stay another day.

Every day more retirements happening. Like leaving the titanic before it hits the iceberg. The captain has no idea what is going on in the clusterfck known as claims.

I blame the exodus on leadership. Not one TM nor SM will go to bat to "work" with an employee to make them better. Their to focused on the number rather than what creates those numbers.

Auto Estimatics is grossly understaffed as of late last summer.
Hiring is going on, but I am sure we will see our share of goodbyes and retirements over the next few days.
