Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

It's a big mess when someone leaves

In fact, this place was always disorganized, but given the large turnover, it's now become very noticeable. I am always worried when one of my colleagues announces that he or she is leaving, because after that there is chaos over who will take over his / her job and in what way. It’s a bunch of work that needs to be somehow allocated to those of us who are still here. Can't this company be a little more organized at least?

Quite alot of adjusters went short term disability after layoff, thought would be immune but when you gotta go to the doctor cause your in stroke range (stress) is ethically broken company this company is no better than a band of monkeys, worst is the millions in bonuses to the top while your worker bees are literally dying, India can have this tu-d run company

Until they can hire back all
The adjusters they laid off 2 years ago during transformative growth then the claims department will always be behind . The pending workload is too much and morale is still bad . It’s not that we’re lazy, but we’ve been doing the work of 2 adjusters for the last two years now ever since the layoffs of 2020 with no hope in sight.

I wish my field is like this, but it is not.

math and statistics side have very large pool of candidates globally.
Usually when we are over 45, we are forced to cough up everything we learned / know to H1 workers. It is like the beginning when IT was first being outsourced in the 2000's.

Plus they are down to hiring bottom of the barrel candidates because they have burned through so many thousands of people who didn't want to stick around through their BS.

You're asking a lot of this place for them to get their sh-t together and get organized.

Yep, it's a sh-t-show. This company generally does a terrible job of onboarding and offboarding employees. The workload is so heavy that it really doesn't allow for any time to deal with the many tech and other general problems that happen each day, let alone enough time to cover for one or more people (or adequately train new employees). So people leave and nobody really covers their work, and then it gets dumped on new people who have to now clean up the mess. And it's been this way forever, so I can only conclude that this is acceptable to leadership.

I agree. I had a coworker leaving already, before I gave my notice. I had an insanely large inventory and everything was urgent. I feel bad for my coworkers who will have to take on the work.
