Given that internal theft is standard operating procedure at Belk, I assume its liquidation.
OTOH, I could never understand why they only did inventory once a year 🤦♀️
June inventory means either they suspect internal theft or they are closing the store. No other reason for a June inventory.
If we break down all the definitions, we can see that there are certain similarities:
Inventory is:
- An asset, tangible or intangible
- An asset that can be realized for revenue generation or has a value for exchange
- An asset which is in process but is meant for sale in the market
If Belk company is doing inventory again in June 2022 for just selected stores may be many stores will be closed this summer but inventory for all stores liquidation is the only way to go this summer

HR just posted blackout dates and June 21-26 is blacked out for inventory.

If your store is doing a June inventory something is definitely wrong.
