Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

With so many people quitting, are we at the point where layoffs are not needed?

This is done on purpose, rather than pay for layoffs, what is it like 2 weeks per year worked they much rather make it so hard of an environment that people will quit on their own and the company will save money.

@1cja. No, they are not moving 30,000 jobs to India but they are moving many over there and the rest will be eliminated by automation and customer self servicing of claims and billing services and the eventual elimination of the agency channel.

Bad PR, but Allstate doesn't care. Well, hopefully the tide will turn. Tell your agent about your concern regarding India taking our jobs, but siding with the world's enemy.

Unless they are quitting from Pune layoffs will still happen. Their end game is to have the absolute minimum of U.S. wage paid employees possible. That number is less than 10,000 eventually. We are still at just over 40,000. That's a lot of heads yet to chop.

I don't have the exact numbers, but it seems that attrition has at least doubled.
