Charlotte-based Belk is shutting down a fulfillment center in a small South Carolina town this spring, a move that will eliminate more than 300 jobs at the site.
The department store chain will close its Jonesville facility starting at the end of April through about May 28, it recently told the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce through a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification. Belk said all jobs at that center would be eliminated, affecting about 310 workers.
Belk is finally biting the bullet to close some stores as retail experts have said it last year when Belk declared Chapter 11 to reduce heavy debts. No matter what Belk CEOs and company are trying to hide the ugly truth from Belk workers. It is the beginning of the end at Belk company. You can run but you can't hide Belk top leaders!

Here is another red flag at Belk company. While other retail companies like Best Buy, Home Depot, Lowe’s and Amazon are adding more fulfillment and distribution centers to meet the customers orders and online demands in Charlotte region, Belk is closing or cutting back fulfillment distribution center?
What is wrong with this picture you think?
Good Riddance! It is unorganized and toxic workplace. It is about time.
If this is not a giant red flag, I don't know what is.
