Today our SM told all the key holders that we are responsible for making the conversion goal for the day on our closing shifts. If we don’t make the goal we will get two warnings before we are written up, which will include termination if we continue to miss goal. This is so arbitrary because there are so many factors we can’t control. Our store is next to a movie theater and we never make it on Friday, Saturday or Sunday because of all the traffic after the movies let out. F this place!

They can't afford to get rid of managers. That's laughable. The last thing a SM wants to do, I'd try to train a new manager. Relax, shrug your shoulders, move on with your day.
Have mandatory P-o Pourri purchases for all employees. /s.
Jesus, and I thought my DM was an id--t for blaming unfluffed pillows for his inability to get sales everywhere in the store. And this was 3 years ago!
Anyone get fired yet?
this week we're telling our cashiers to 'forget' to scan an item or two in purchases so it is rung up as 2 transactions
they're so desperate to hit the numbers it's like we're playing a video game; who cares if sales are down or the numbers are obviously padded, just as long as we hit that percentage!
Yes hug the walls when leaving. Got same direction as well with sm demonstration
Sinking ship, who will get off?
Smh. If this doesn't tell you that this company doesn't give a f#ck about its staff, I don't know what will. Absolutely ridiculous.
regardless of how ridiculous conversion is, we can’t get accurate readings anyways because our shoppertrak thing is always malfunctioning. literally every week our DM or someone emails us how we’re supposed to walk in and leave the building so employees aren’t counted; this week it was go in and out the entrance, but (and i’m not joking here) ‘hug the wall’ on the way out so we don’t get counted
gimme a break
Read the Red Flags people this company is all done.
What day does the SM close? Does he make the goal? Have your friends and family run up the customer counter on his nights then ask him why you have to make conversion when he can’t.
They did this at Sears too. A lot of leads stepped down or left.
Bu-----t it's a process thru out the day one person cannot be blamed for a whole day.
Too many stores selling home goods.
Have some employees walk in and out of the store backwards. This will reduce the customer count and you will make conversion. Works every time.
This for real? I mean we almost never meet our goal of 40-45%. We’re usually around 25-30….they say we can get there. But we’ve plateaued. The company is mad for their own problems.
