Isn't it funny how much they "cared" about HO associates to keep the HO closed through Covid (because they didn't want someone to get sick and WM sued) BUT now that gas prices are so high they want everyone in the HO (because how much it costs us to get to work × inflation) wouldn't be a reason to "care" about associates. WM is always and will always be about whatever benefits the billionaires who really don't give a sh-t about the associates.

Walmart had to call HO back to the office. They’ve lost so many people that the knowledge drain is breathtaking. Walmart isn’t good at training, so they need people in the office with each other to socialize that tribal knowledge before they lose it all.
The funny thing is, these MBAs they wanted so bad that are fresh out of school are expensive and won’t work half the hours the old crew did.
All you used to hear at home office was how terrible our talent was. Now leadership wishes many of the folks they laid off were still working there.
What a stupid, selfish post. For the past couple of years through the worst of the pandemic, hundreds of thousands of field workers risked their health and safety by going to work everyday in DC's and Stores, to ensure the rest of America had essential supplies to purchase. Many of us were in PPE from head to toe (H&W). N-95, face shields, masks, gloves etc.... to serve the members of our communities. Its fortunate you have a job that allowed you to sit around in you PJ's on Zoom & Slack and "work" in the comfort and safety of your home, but it's time to come back to the real world.
Walmart just spent hundreds of Millions on a new state of the art "campus" for our H.O Associates. Your role is to provide support to our stores so we can serve our customers. Team work and collaboration have always been part of Walmarts culture, and that happens most effectively when people are together, face to face and developing relationships etc...
The price of gas and the additional cost of driving to work is a reality that every American is now facing--- including the associates in the Stores and DC's. They again do not have the luxury of "remote" work. Stores don't stock themselves, trucks don't load themselves, Covid Shots and not "do it at home", and field associates are not getting a mileage allowance to drive to work.
All Americans (including H.O Associates) are going to have to suck it up for awhile until we get through this period of inflation and the impacts of the War in Ukraine. When I see petty, "its all about me" posts like this one anywhere it just drives me crazy. Think about people around the world and in our own country that are truly suffering or are in need. God only knows how we would have gotten through WWII if Americans had this this "all about me" attitude in the 1940's. I hope everyone just takes a deep breath, and reflects on what's really important right now, and what their role is to make Humankind a little better.
I hope this is your 1st day here. Everyone learns this on their 2nd day. /s
