Has anyone else noticed that recent promotions seen to be based on looks , to show the company has a more youthful look?

The older director and managers are groomers. They pick ‘em and grrom em. Been going on for a while. You got the little guy or gal hip Progressive profile. Or family ties your in…. Nothing new

Hey , 23 yr employee here , just got my 3 rd career promo, I bout fell over when told. Ten years of proving, asking, documenting my efforts only to be told we can’t have any more Sr analyst. now I can set the retirement date and just wAlk away.

Getting promoted at SF means you sold your soul. You are no longer able to express your opinions nor discuss anything to anyone. You are a cookie cutter stepford wife with no opinion. Solent Green.
The promotions are given from the metric system that has been in place for each dept. It’s an unfair playing field and was designed that way. There is a certain amount of miney budgeted for each dept and teams for raises. They then use percentages to break down how many 3’s are given and 2’s and 1’s on the rating system. The greatest problem with using metrics for issuing raises is the accountability the company relys on. Example:. Estimatics uses daily production and ed (estimatic difference) as the primary tool used to give ratings at the end of the year. Problem is there are gret issues with accurately reporting production. ED is done by reinspectors who are judgemental in reviewing estimates from pictures obtained. The company doesnt give the proper time to review all ed calls made by the reinspector on a particular estimator.
Bonus points in the HR profiling software for ze/zir/zippitdydoo pronouns, 10 syllable names, and a profile pic where you look like you just rolled out of bed from clubbing all night.

Hiring depts and Mgrs are heavy into nepotism, "profiling" tools and superficial practices. Calling it Management. It's not you. It's their system and culture.
Here’s a tip, buy a razor and maybe consider ironing your cloths once every couple weeks. Also, deodorant is very inexpensive these days.
If that was the case I’d be CEO, I’m very hot as the ladies tell me.
I guess you will need to learn to deal with it, if that is the case.
Based on all your posts of dissatisfaction, I suggest you go back to school. You can probably stay in school for decades. They have safe places there to protect you from the world.
