Amazon closing stores

I know this doesn't improve our situation in any way, but it's still good to see that even Amazon can fail spectacularly.

I have been reading books exclusively online for almost a decade now, when I take the time to read books at all. I am as surprised that there are still bookstores as I am that there are still newspapers being printed. It's definitely a dying industry. I'm sure it still has another 10-20 years or more... but I can't imagine it doing anything but declining over time.

Amazon sucks when it comes to books. Literally every book I have ever ordered from them has had some kind of damage to it.

My BN books came like they were packed with no thought, care or pride. Since switching exclusively to Amazon, they all come oerfect !

  1. Because books aren't selling like they used to. People don't read as much.
  2. It's easier and CHEAPER to order online. Or download.
  3. Not enough traffic/sales to make brick and mortars worth it.
  4. Book stores are not needed like clothes stores, you don't have to try them on to see if they fit.
