Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Anyone rejoined XOM especially in BTC

I left Exxon in 2019 I am thinking of applying again? Anyone re-joined company and how was their experience.

Unspoken rules are XOM won't rehire you unless you have specialized skill for which they can't find people. And besides why would you want to reenter XOMs toxic tank?

If you resigned from BTC it’s unlikely they will take you back, even if they did you would be used for fodder in the assessment process.

After 20+ years, left for several years with competitor. XOM called and asked if I was interested in returning and they offered it at 2 CL levels above where I was before leaving. Asked for all previous service time restored. Company agreed. Came back with eyes wide open. During time away realized that the grass was just a different shade, not greener. I’d do it again.

No worries. They will not hire you again. Lol.

If you leave after significant experience and then rejoin after short time you tend to get some forgiveness and won't be treated poorly. If you leave after short service and rejoin you risk being treated like experienced hire, which means poorly
