I was axed in January 2021 and ended with a new company (1 month after) that is on the list of one of best 100s companies to work for. As investor I cenovus stocks monitor the company just for the right time frame to make best possible profit (I hate holding their stocks), I often wonder how many would hold to the job that brings you nothing good. Many good people there have been let go, many other were placed in horrible positions to make them leave on their own without package.
To all good people still hanging there in the hope that things will get better, it will not unless the whole upper management changes and new comes in to bring a glory and reputation that this company once had from their roots as Pan Canadina and later on Encana.
My heart aches for all good people and honest people (not many lefton Cenovus), still hanging in the hope that things will get better.
As you wait, your life will not wait for changes in this toxic place and it will continue with being unhappy and sad. These unhappy emotions will transpire to your home setting (personal relationships) making more people affected by this hardship.
Is it worth it, NO
I get that many need that paycheck to make it but what is stopping you from looking around while you collect that pay check, think about it.
If you are good in what you do look around. If you are typical Cenovus employee enjoy the environmentthat uou participate creating. What I am seeing so many incompetent people are being retained, by nature bad people in decision positions, very scary and what can you expect from that. This company at one point was considered as leader in industry (AER standards) to become sad state of affairs.
Don't be afraid to look around this company is not you or your family, you don't owe them anything, unless you are one of those peple that participated in making this place so toxic, then it is the right place for you.
Take care all of you good people, my heart is with you in hopes that you will find these greener pastures.
