I've been sending out applications for a while but I still haven't received any offer. Despite my modest skills, I thought that looking for a new job would not take that long. Perhaps someone has some advice because obviously just sending applications and waiting for a response doesn’t yield any results?

Best advice ever. Stay away from Blowe's!
As @sef+1 wrote "You need to follow up and show interest."
My nephew drove to a job fair 100 miles from his home put on by a company that was hiring, including a facility 15 miles from home. He got the job because he showed that initiative. That one worked as a bridge to a paid internship in his degree concentration, which will lead to a well paying job at an electronics company.
Best piece of advice....stay the he-l away from Lowe's.
Waiting for a response? Wrong! You need to follow up and show interest. Try actually walking into a store with a brief resume and speaking to someone in charge. You will stand out and show initiative in most cases. Ask to use their name and resubmit your application. Good luck.
