Good friends tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear - for this reason they are hard to find.
They do this because they respect your ability to deal with confronting information. It is a gesture of admiration.
Be weary when all you receive is good news.
There are two types of sin:
Sin by commission - When you actively do something bad to someone else
Sin by omission - when you see something that needs rectifying and don't do anything about it.
Withholding the truth for the purposes of comfortability is sin by omission.
When someone comes to you with information that is less than desirable, stop. Remind yourself it is a gesture of respect. Only certain people (with certain characters) are allowed in the decision making process when times get tough.
If you want to be invited into the room in the future, act the way you want to be remembered.
It takes courage to live in the world of truths...
I was telling someone the other day, if majority agrees with you but you have two or three who disagree or express a different viewpoint, advise to hold them closely because often times it’s not those who disagree with you, you should be concerned with, it’s those who agree with everything you do that you should be mindful of.
