I keep wondering why Belk pays so little. The answer may be very simple. Perhaps the reason is that even those at the top know that Belk has no future and that is why they are no longer trying to save this company? That's my opinion. I would love to be wrong, but I don't know another reason why a company with a vision for the future would pay below industry standards.

Spent today putting in job applications. The only light at the end of the tunnel is the exit light. At 7pm there are a total of 3 customers and 2 employees. So freaking pathetic!!!!
You can see the future of Belk is dark when your regular best customers are buying less at your flagship Belk stores.
You can see the future of a sinking ship Belk when your best Belk employees have gone and not replaced in your Belk retail stores.
“YOU” as Belk regular loyal and dedicated workers have lost the passion to work for the retail clothing company you once loved and so proud and ask why I am still here? If you say YES to all these three questions, then there is no future at Belk for anyone but the empty dress shirts shelves and clearance shoe boxes at the end!

They don’t have a vision or blind because Sycamore Partners is the filthy owner and running the show not Belk CEO! Any retail stores that bought out by Sycamore Partners always ending with heavy debts and financial trouble? Enough said.
