Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Which group do you belong to?

There are two groups of employees at GF:

  1. Those who are worried, tired but remain passive about it
  2. Those who are actively looking for something new but failing to get an offer

There are also those who are happy here, I consider them exceptions and their numbers are certainly very negligible.

How can you have offers and not have to decide for months?!

Option 3. Have offers: Waiting a deserved bonus before accepting.
Watching and waiting to see the shitshow in April and May when the fallout from the resignations and firings over the non compliance mandate cause down tool issues. Also waiting for the IT systems finally crumble due to outsourcing and no real upkeep.
To the poster waiting on a raise: Increase range is (HV) 1.5 to 4.8%.(EP) anywhere between. Good luck. Inflation will drown that this year.

I'm happy at GF. Nearing the end of my career, money is good, people are nice and I keep a low.profile and go about my work.

Not worried about GF in the near term. Casually looking and waiting for a job that I think I'll enjoy doing in an area/city that my family will enjoy. Just cruising for now, waiting a few weeks so I can time any offer and resignation with the bonus payout (EE, 12% base). Small chance I get a big enough raise to make me stay or make it hard to get a super competitive offer. I don't think I'll get promoted given my level and credentials, and don't want one because of added responsibility (already doing 2 people's jobs).
