Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

To 2022

2 pro's and 2 negatives. Pro 1 - Reinstated 401k matching. Neg 1 - you have to wait a year to receive it (can we make it). Pro 2 - reinstated merit increase. Neg 2 - Is it really based off your performance eval or will get screwed with another 3% increase. FYI - cost of living this past year tripled.

Staples buying xerox? that is a joke why would they

And funny to see a bitter ex-employee keep coming back here to admit they left for a place with just as bad a 401k match and low raises. smart one, left and couldnt even improve themselves. sounds like good riddance and wont be missed

Regarding the 401k match; if an average tech makes 50k per year, and X matches 50% of the first 6%, (not sure if that's what it is), that amounts to $1500 per year. It's not that much to be a determining factor if you stay or not.

Does anyone make career decisions based upon a paltry 401k match?

@mrj+1f84aJ5y, and how much of your salary did you gladly return to Xerox during the years of low inflation? Judging by your comment, we know how you voted. You are now getting what you voted for...

Everyone that has posted here is an id--t. 401k has always paid out AFTER year end since the new regime started with JV. If you get fired or quit you get nothing (PS that’s how most companies are operating now, no more free money). No company is giving 8% raises due to inflation, this is called economics. Go read a book on it. If you’re unhappy, find a new job like me - if you can’t right now with thousands of open jobs, fast food restaurants need people too.

How will you get your 401K when they fire your a-s before the 1 year mark?

Last poster - not XRX's problem. Employees never have leverage unless you have a very specific scarce skill, or are JV's bud! You're dreaming.

Cost of food, gas, rent, you name it has gone up "extensively". Companies should be supporting their employees with increase in salary fluctuation. I don't see how at these hard times, so many people choose to not work. Employee has the leverage now more than ever. Yes Xerox should be giving every non sales employee an increase in pay to cover these rising costs.

Cost of living did not triple. The rate of increase to cost of living did. You will not see any salary increases this year. Follow the revenue.
