Perhaps it would be better for the manager to direct his energy into something else, instead of being fully committed to controlling everything everyone does. It's getting ridiculous. What is he trying to achieve with that? Totally unnecessary. I worked in several other companies in retail and I have never experienced anything like it.

Our DM prefers seagull management. Swoops in, craps all over everything then flys away.
Tell him to stop.
