Thread regarding Emerson Electric Co. layoffs

Better-than-expected first quarter

Isn't it interesting what was said about automation during the first quarter conference call?

As long as RK is there as COO culture and morale will suffer.

Up 8% from last year.

Surplus handed out to the shareholders, employee raises are stagnant across the org. Typical 2.8-3% raise.

Currently there is a large attrition rate, roughly 15% across most business units. Emersons answer to retaining employees? Have them sign a non-compete when they are promoted or move into a different position.

Large scale goals and directions are not communicated effectively, and the stagnation and ugly David Farr culture still marches forward through the company.

Lal continues to wash over serious topics, and action on shifting focus into renewables and sustainable business models is clearly not gaining traction.

What does this mean for employees? Nothing. We will continue to be wage slaves while the upper teir exponentially bennifits from the slave labor below.

Best to move on and try something else.

This is the best economic environment I’ve ever seen. Everyone is making money. It’s easy to sail when the wind is at your back.

It’s easy when you’re not hiring and backfilling. LK is full of it. Hasn’t done anything to help culture in one whole year.
