Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

No new products

This is bad.

When will X release a new, good product? What miracle will it take for a company to finally launch a new, great thing and what can we expect without it?

I think that even those who think that this is still a good place to be working at, will soon start looking for new jobs.

HP bought the copier division from Samsung and after working on one of their colour products, it completely shocked me just how amazing technology they have compared to Xerox. Xerox is at least 7 years behind. We have a customer who has a Altalink 8155 I think that has been done for 3 months due to no supplies or fusers.
Shocking and have 735 copiers and printers on back order. Unbelievable

No new products direct from x is a really good thing. Not only does it coincide with the strat to outsource everything and feed the dividend but so many other benefits as well. Example? When a product or component associated fails you can just blame the manufacturer.

Yeah, good luck finding any supplies for those Versants. Can't keep any of my customers up and running due to sh***y toner and backordered and faulty drums.

Lots of new products on the way. Versant 380, then 480, then 580, then 680.
Versant 4100, then 5100, then 6100.
We have so much innovation coming and I am thrilled to be a production rep at XBS!

I really wouldn't want to be in Visentin's shoes. He's a nice guy but treating FX like they were peasants when in they fact its the other way around was bound to fail spectacularly and he likely knew it going in.

We sell potatoes. Fuji is the only farmer. And we're going to dictate to them? Not sure that was the best move here...

Fuji will let us bleed to death then buy us for peanuts as a distribution channel.

Lets face it. We make the Baltoro, the iGen and Nuvera in Webster. Everything else is Fuji (Iridesse/Versant/Primelink/Versamark/etc)

Impika is dead. Fuji has a "new" Iridesse but it's not being picked up by us.

We sell 3 products that we make (Baltoro/Nuvera/iGen). The rest are made by someone else.

3 Products.

Sorry gang, it's over.

Xerox only manufacturers 2 of the products, right? Everything else comes from Fuji or HP or Lexmark?

Not a position I would want to be in right now.
