Am I missing something? A few people have written about the "June announcement" here, but my store hasn't announced anything. Could someone please give me the details what this is about?

Macys always does things 1 to 2 years in advance to what they want to do. Captains are going to be the new managers as they flush out managers who been there long term and ones that been short term.. I believe Managers are going to disappear within 1-2 years.
Captains will be expected to act as if they are managers. When they cut leads and supervisors, they made the captain role a glorified associated. With this rollout, they will be expected to do manager type things and scheduled with the executive team.
In my store, the captains are like managers. They are like the sales supervisors of the past. The only difference between managers and captains is that captains are paid hourly and not salary and therefore clock in and out like associates. But otherwise they do everything a manager does.
If I'm still a sales associate there and offered the Captain's job, I'll jump on it. Learn the responsibilities of the job, be the best at it, and prove to management that I'm promotable. I'm motivated to work, learn and be the best at what I do. I was a home sales associate, climbed up to be a Manager, and ended my Macy's career as a District Merchant and on to very early well-compensated retirement. Knowledge and hard work will lead you to a rewarding path.
If They make you a captain RUN !!! You will be doing the managers job, plus stock, moves It’s a complete joke, nobody will take this position unless they don’t know any better.
No, your incorrect. Captains are just a level up from a regular sales associate, they are not like managers and not on the executive schedule.
If your store does that then it's wrong They will do the biggest part of the grunt work with this new rollout including stock work, registers, floor moves, you name it.
Haven’t heard managers are being cut but I have heard captains are going to be expected to act like managers now. They will be a part of the executive schedules and not scheduled in their areas anymore. Don’t know if this is a fact though.
Target is hiring $15/hr
Will someone please explain in further detail this 'June' project? My store has 5 managers plus store manager. All but one work damn hard.
The managers should definitely be reduced. The management group in our store spends 70% of their day hiding in the office. If you call for leadership help over Theatro nobody answers. That system was a total waste of company May.
Managers are not being cut with the add of the CAPTAINS. The Captain's are hourly and not part of management.
Ge-z. It's the implementation of the Innovative Selling program in all stores. The pilot people have been talking about since last spring. That's the rollout in June.
I heard sales and support same hours, will be self service check outs and then a main checkout area like they have at the grocery store and cutting management positions and replacing them with captains. Less managers.
Interesting ❓ roll out 🤔
But what is the rollout??!! Roll out of what?? Why bother to mention the rollout and not say what they are rolling out…..UGH
I don’t think the announcement is in June. I believe the roll out is June.
