It was bearable for me here until the new SM came along. It is now not only my opinion, but also the opinion of my colleagues, that this person was hired just to make our job a nightmare. It may sound like an exaggeration, but it certainly looks that way. The result = everyone is leaving.

All our old district staff were former SM’s that were moved to those positions because they couldn’t run a store effectively.
Many districts no longer have any qualified people to promote into store manager positions. When store managers leave or get dismissed there are very few choices available to promote. I know this for a fact in CT---when decent managers left they promoted anybody available, and of course they are not working out.
For real!!! This sm is walking into a store they don’t know. Try to support them. My sm is probably the best that has ever been and she came from district staff when they downsized. Give them a chance. The best thing ever is a well supported sm. And this is coming from one of the negative Nancy’s on this board. Try to bring them up and they will in turn bring you up. It worked out that way for us anyway. Maybe we were lucky. Our sm is THS BEST EVER. Try helping before judging.
Really I don't think that. Give them a chance they don't know you, and have no reason to make things difficult. But this gives you a clean slate and you can show them how good you are. Every Store manager needs strong associates to help them be successful and and I'm sure you would love to work in a team oriented store. You got this good Luck you can be the one to make the difference.
What state?
You think your SM was hired to make your life a nightmare?. May I suggest some therapy?
